# Art Museum Piatra Neamț

The museum grew out of an art section approved on 17 October 1960 within the Archaeological Museum and became an art museum in 1980.

The museum grew out of an art section approved on 17 October 1960 within the Archaeological Museum and became an art museum in 1980. It is housed in a 1930 school building (architects Roger Bolomey and Fr. Droz) within the Princely Court ensemble. The permanent exhibition traces Romanian art from the late 19th century to the present, highlighting artists from Neamț and major donations (Paul Gotcu, Aurelia Vasiliu-Ghiață, Simona Vasiliu-Chintilă, Iulia Hălăucescu). The building was restored in 2010–2011.
